Plan your visit

Choose palace-only or palace plus garden first. Garden sessions have capacity and language conditions, and reaching the garden entrance takes a walk through the grounds. Changgyeonggung and special night events have separate admission.

Admission & costs
Regular palace admission is KRW 3,000 for Korean citizens aged 25–64 and foreign visitors aged 19–64. A palace free-entry campaign is announced for 29 Oct–15 Nov 2026, excluding closure days. Garden sessions are separate: regular adult KRW 5,000 and ages 7–18 KRW 2,500. Check exemptions and event conditions.
Transport & arrival
The operator lists about 5 minutes on foot from Anguk Station exit 3 (line 3), or 10 minutes from Jongno 3-ga exit 7. Garden visitors need at least another 15-minute walk from the palace entrance; do not arrive just as the session starts.
Parking & access
The operator states there is no visitor car park and recommends public transport. For a nearby paid lot, check its entrance, rates and the walk to the palace.

Nearby route & food

After the palace, choose Ikseon-dong or Insadong for a further walk. An official notice restricts parts of Gwolnaegaksa for works on 27 Oct–5 Nov 2026. Myeongdong Kyoja Main Store, 29 Myeongdong 10-gil, requires a separate trip; it is not inside the palace.
